We recently moved last October – And when I packed up our kitchen, I did just that. I tossed everything more than 3 months old – and the unhealthy things. I clean my fridge out weekly – Toss what needs to be and wipe everything down. Not only is it the healthy thing to do, but it was also just feels good knowing it’s cleaned and organized.

I clean my kitchen every day after breakfast and dinner. Once a week I wipe counters,Frig door and handles, stove and hadles and dishwasher with a mid ammonia mixture or lemon Lysol. it feels much cleaner and smells great. The handles in the kitchen can get really grimy after a week of cooking. I wash my hands after touching meat. I will not touch another thing until hands are clean after touching meat, always. A degree in Home Economics gave me vital information regarding food safety and nutrition. I still am working at perfecting my kitchen. I made a lot of mistakes when kids were little, but continually adopting new ways to ensure my kitchen is clean, healthy, and happy.

I think we all need to find more opportunities to be active, and doing things that inspire the christmas spirit and stop trying to look for THINGS that inspire the christmas spirit. It’s not about the decorations or the concerts, it’s about the service.

It’s certainly not easy to let others buy big presents, it makes me feel guilty. I need to be more grateful for what people give me, and stop thinking about what I’m going to give them in return.

I think you’re right too, that my family needs to set limits. Clear limits would make a big difference.

I have to say very loudly….”AMEN” !!!!!I did not go shopping on Black Friday. Could have with some friends. I chose not to. For Christmas, my children will receive from Santa and me, ar specifically things they really need and one favorite “WISH” that they have. I have to teach them to be “grateful” for what they have, NOT what they don’t have. I have to teach and reteach this along with the reminder of how sooo many children and adults in this world are beyond thankful to have water, if they can even get that! Thanks for posting this article.

I worked at our local homeless shelter this Thanksgiving and thought about all the people there that had no home for a Christmas tree, no money for presents, no food for the Christmas dinner and I wondered how many knew Christ personally and how many had given up hope. This season has made me realize what giving is all about. May we all give thanks to God for what we have and Pray for those who have not.

These are some great tips. My baby is 10 months old and has just started getting diaper rash. I think I might try the coconut oil remedy.
